Detroit Home Builders Recognized with “Race for Talent” Award by State of Michigan

We’re honored to share that Detroit Home Builders LLC was recognized by the State of Michigan Apprenticeship Expansion team with the “Race for Talent” award, highlighting our work in expanding Registered Apprenticeship opportunities right here in the city of Detroit.

The event was hosted at Henry Ford College and brought together top employers, workforce leaders, and community partners to celebrate real progress in apprenticeship and workforce development. We were proud to stand alongside other committed organizations pushing to create more hands-on training, good-paying jobs, and long-term career pathways for our communities.

Since launching our Construction Craft Laborer Registered Apprenticeship Program with the support of the Workforce Intelligence Network (WIN), we’ve been focused on one mission: training people from the ground up. Our program gives individuals the chance to earn while they learn, gain real credentials like the OSHA 30, and become part of Detroit’s rebuilding from the inside out.

We’ve partnered with Henry Ford College, DESC/Detroit At Work, and employers — and we’ve earned MARC I & II certification from the State of Michigan, meaning our pre-apprenticeship curriculum now meets state standards and qualifies for workforce funding support.
